What we do

Legislative Compliance

Legislative Compliance

REHIS Food Safety

Everyone involved in food production and delivery, from manufacturers and retailers to caterers, has a legal and moral duty to know the principles and practices of food safety. The following programmes meet legislative compliance for their respective level:

Introductory Food Hygiene

Designed to meet the initial training needs of new food handlers and support staff, this 3 hour programme identifies good and bad practices, and the important contribution they can make to the production of safe food.

Elementary Food Hygiene

Suitable for all food handlers, this 1 day programme provides a general introduction to food hygiene issues, including hazard analysis, and provides the necessary information needed to underpin good practice in food safety.

Intermediate Food Hygiene

Particularly suitable for Managers and Supervisory food handling staff, this 3 day programme reinforces the importance of the supervisory role in the management of effective food safety practice. On successful completion the manager or supervisor will be equipped to satisfactorily operate a HACCP system, in accordance with legislative requirements.

REHIS Health & Safety

On average, 2 million people every year suffer from illness believed to be caused or made worse by work. In the last 10 years, an average of 224 deaths per year occurred in the workplace.

If you think Health & Safety is expensive, try not doing it! In fact, safer, more efficient working practices can often save money. And more importantly, can save lives.

Introduction to Health & Safety

Designed to meet the initial training needs of individuals working all types of industry, this 3 hour programme emphasises the essential safety concerns within the workplace.

Elementary Health & Safety

This 1 day programme is suitable for people working in all industry sectors. The programme has been structured to identify areas of major concern, and to offer elementary guidance regarding good health and safety practice.

The programme includes:- General Introduction, An Introduction to Health and Safety Law, General Working Environment, Hazardous Substances, Work Related Health Problems, Slips, Trips and Falls, Manual Handling, Machinery and Equipment, Electricity at Work, Fire, Accidents and Emergencies.

Alcohol Licensing

Since the Introduction of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, which came into force in September 2009, it is a legal requirement for all licensed premises to have a Personal Licence Holder on site during trading hours. It is also a legal requirement for all staff to undertake licensing training. Under increasing scrutiny to show responsible retailing, licensed premises are facing their toughest challenges yet to ensure legislative compliance. These programmes provide that compliance:

City & Guilds Personal Licence Holder training

Suitable for all owners, managers and supervisors in the On and Off sales trade, this 1 day programme enables the candidate to apply for a Personal Licence on successful completion. This, in turn, allows the individual to authorise and supervise the sale of alcohol. Those who are Named Premises Managers on a premises licence application must have this qualification.

City & Guilds Staff Mandatory training

All staff must now complete 2 hours mandatory training before selling or serving alcohol. We can supply this as a facilitated workshop or alternatively we can supply City & Guilds workbooks to allow your own Personal Licence Holders to complete and supervise staff training and sign records for evidence of due diligence.
